Robustness with Respect to Delay Uncertainties of a Predictor-Observer Based Discrete-Time Controller

This paper focuses on the delay-dependent stability problem of a discrete-time prediction scheme to stabilize possible unstable continuous-time systems. The delay-dependent stability condition is expressed in terms of LMIs. The separation principle between the proposed predictor and a state observer is also proved. The closed-loop system is shown to be robust with respect to uncertainties in the knowledge on the plant parameters, the delay and the sampling period. The proposed scheme has been tested in a real-time application to control the roll angle in a prototype of a quad-rotor mini-helicopter.

Observer-Based Robust Control for Switched Stochastic Systems with Time-Varying Delay

Also available from the publisher at: http://dx.doi.org/10.1155/2013/320703 Open Access This paper investigates the problem of observer-based robust H ∞ control for a class of switched stochastic systems with time-varying delay. Based on the average dwell time method, an exponential stability criterion for switched stochastic delay systems is proposed. Then, H ∞ performance analysis and observer-based robust H ∞ controller design for the underlying systems are developed. Finally, a numerical example is presented to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

Observer-based sliding mode control for stabilization of a dynamic system with delayed output feedback

Published version of an article in the journa: Mathematical Problems in Engineering. Also available from the publisher at: http://dx.doi.org/10.1155/2013/537414 Open Access This paper considers the sliding mode control problem for a kind of dynamic delay system. First by utilizing Lyapunov stability theory and a linear matrix inequality technique, an observer based on delayed output feedback is constructed. Then, an integral sliding surface is presented to realize the sliding mode control for the system with the more available stability condition. Finally, some numerical simulations are implemented to demonstrate the validity of the proposed control method.

Observer-based control design for a class of nonlinear systems subject to unknown inputs: LMI approach

This paper deals with the problem of observer-based controller design for a class of nonlinear systems subject to unknown inputs. A novel method is presented to design a controller using estimated state variables which guarantees all the state variables of the closed-loop system converge to the vicinity of the origin and stay there forever. This is done via satisfying several sufficient conditions in terms of nonlinear matrix inequalities.
